200 MegaWatt Wind Farm Project In Nebraska

Not long after a new law was passed in Nebraska that encourages the development of wind power, a new project is in the process. Invenergy has submitted a proposal to build a 200 megawatt wind farm in Boone and Antelope counties. Invenergy is based in Chicago and submitted the application last week.

The proposal consists of a wind farm that will have 133 wind turbines that span around 45,000 acres and will cost an estimated $448 million. Boone and Antelop counties are located in northeast Nebraska. Legislature passed the new law this spring that is designed to make the process easier for private companies to develop wind power in Nebraska.
