Boosting Wind Power With The Wind Energizer
A company based in Los Angelos is hoping that they’ll be able to increase the viability of wind energy projects with the use of a new static structure that shows promise in increasing the amount of air that flows through wind turbines. The increased airflow is expected to result in as much as 30 percent more energy output.
Wind Energizer, developed by Leviathon Energy, is a doughnut shaped device that is positioned at the base of a wind turbine and when placed in the correct position will drive the air up to the turbines propellors and make them spin faster. The new device is projected to start returning on the investment within as little as four to five years.
Leviathon Energy also hopes that the device will reduce the wear on turbines by providing the ability to regulate the effects of the wind. The company is also working on a wide range of new technologies that will increase the amount of energy generated from marine turbines and hydro power.
