Turn The Lights Off for Earth Hour

Saturday, March 28, at 8:30 p.m. has been designated as Earth Hour. It’s hoped that millions of people in cities around the world will turn off all the lights for one hour. The short, dark period will raise everyone’s conscious about the link that exists between global warming and the world’s energy use.

This year the goal is to get 1 billion people to join in and switch off their lights. Last years total topped the 2.2 million dark homes in 2007 by reaching around 50 million. The annual event began two years ago in Australia and thanks to the media and the internet it’s becoming a wide known event.
