GM To Market 40 MPG Chevrolet Beat In The US
GM has announced plans to begin marketing the Chevrolet Beat in the United States. The Beat will be the 2nd smallest car to be sold in the country at only 11.5 feet in length.
The move is a response to a major shift in the buying habits of consumers to smaller vehicles because of soaring fuel prices. The Chevrolet Beat is considered a “green” vehicle because of its impressive gas mileage of up to 40 miles per gallon.
The shift to more fuel efficient vehicles is expected to have a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in addition to savings on fuel expenses for consumers.
GM has also announced considerations to drop certain vehicle brands in its attempts to satisfy consumer demands for greener vehicles.
