Green Job Growth Is Growing With The Demand For Clean Energy

The recent growth in the wind industry has helped create a growth on jobs in the United States. Jobs from the manufacturing of components for turbines, to the installation and maintenance of wind turbines has already created some 80,000 jobs in America!

Until a few years ago, most of the components for wind turbines were imported from other countries. But, in the last three years, the amount of turbine components manufactured domestically has almost doubled! In 2005, around one fourth of all the wind turbine components used in America were imported, by 2005 that amount had jumped to half!

Employeers from the industries that will be building and maintaining the wind infrastructure, aren’t looking for workers experienced or educated in the green industry. Employees that have good skills in manufacturing techniques, hydraulics and other fields as well as electrical engineers will all have a place in the green industry.

Although, many manufacturing jobs are disappearing with the slump in the economy, at least some of them are being replaced by the need for cleaner energy sources.
