Green Manufacturing Training And Certification

Indiana’s Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) offers a free green training program to educate manufacturers and workers about the basics of green manufacturing and ways to conserve energy and reduce waste. Those who participate in the program are awarded with a Green Manufacturing Certificate.

The Green Manufacturing Certification program is being led by a team of engineering professors and graduate students of Purdue University. It is possible for a manufacturer to be green and still be profitable and that is what this program is all about.

We are seeing a growing trend for all things environmentally friendly as consumers become more aware and concerned about issues such as greenhouse gas emissions and pollution. Companies who prepare now to become more green will be better able to compete and thrive in the global economy.

It is hoped that this green program will help the state of Indiana to better its current position as one of the lowest rated green states in America. According to a recent study Indiana ranks 49th on the list when compared to other states.
