Husqvarna Set To Introduce Emission Free Robotic Lawnmower

The Green Industry and Equipment Expo will see the first introduction of Husqvarna’s new solar powered lawnmower. The Automower Solar Hybrid will mow the lawn with an innovative technology that uses a mixture of electricity and solar power.

Husqvarna’s newest offering to the environment is a robotic mower that will be able to handle up to half of an acre of land. The mower requires a lot less energy than regular mowers and is completely emission free. A large solar panel is used to take advantage of any sunlight available and increase the time between needed recharges.

The new mower will provide an eco-friendly cut, while you sit on the porch sipping lemonade! The perimeter of the yard will be marked off with a small wire that is either buried or staked into the ground to designate the cutting area. The navigation system will detect the wire and keep the mower inside the boundaries.

Flower beds or vegetables can be protected by surrounding them with the perimeter wire. If the robotic mower runs upon any obstacles that are six inches or more tall, it will simply bump into them, turn around and go the other way!

The carefree mower can even be programmed to cut the grass at certain times with a timer and when the battery gets low it will even return to the base and recharge itself! The razor sharp blades provide a much cleaner, shorter cut than conventional mowers and as an added bonus the clippings decompose to fertilize the lawn the natural way.

The Automower Solar Hybrid weighs just 22 pounds and can mow the lawn day or night even if it’s raining. A 4 number pin will be used to lock the mower and it will feature an alarm. As an added safety feature, the mower will automatically shut off if it’s lifted off of the ground.

Husqvarna might have just answered the prayers of anyone that hates to mow the lawn or just can’t find time. But, the Automower won’t just get you out of cutting the grass, it will also be a big help to the environment!
