Military Supports Alternative Energy

Despite opposition from various sources including the Pentagon, the military is trying to assure the public that it does support wind power and other alternative energy sources. Even though they do have concerns that the wind turbines might block radar that is used to detect threats to the United States, they are committed to both clean energy and homeland defense.

Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, head of the United States Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command posted the militaries support on his official blog. The construction for a 338 turbine farm in Oregon was recently put on hold until the military and the FFA can determine whether or not the farm would interfere with the defensive radar.
