Operation Begins At Hoosier Wind Project
A project that will supply clean wind electricity to the Indianapolis Power and Light Company has became operational. The project, known as the Hoosier Wind Project is a commercial operation by enXco that will generate 106 megawatts of power.
The Hoosier Wind Project consists of 53 REpower wind turbines located in Benton County near Fowler Indiana. Each turbine has a rated generating capacity of 2 megawatts. And, it brings the total gross installed wind energy capacity for enXco up to 965.4 megawatts.
Indianapolis Power and Light signed a Power Purchase Agreement in April 2008 for 20 years. All of the projects maintenance and operations will be provided by enXco.
