Owens Corning Joins Green Fleet Program

Owens Corning, a manufacturer of building supplies and materials is joining in on efforts with the PHH Green Fleet program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company has begun to measure the emissions of greenhouse gases that are produced by its fleet of vehicles. According to company officials Owens Corning plans to lower their amount of emissions by at least 15%.

Frank O’Brien-Bernini, chief sustainability officer for Owens Corning, said that the company is committed to becoming more green by reducing its impact upon the environment.

The PHH Green Fleet program was created in 2006 by the PHH Arval and Environmental Defense Fund. The program is designed to help companies to become more green by providing resources to assist them to lower harmful emissions from their transport vehicles.

Owens Corning is currently working to phase out low fuel efficient vehicles and replace them with models that maximize fuel efficiency. In the long run these measure will lower the company’s operating costs in addition to lowering their impact upon the environment.
