Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions With Energy Efficient Technolgies

According to a report released by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE), energy consumption in the United States per dollar value of output will be around 8,900 BTUs by the end of this year. When compared to the energy consumption rate of 1970, which was 18,000 BTUs, this is seen as a very significant drop in energy consumption.

According to the ACEEE this is strong evidence that our nation is becoming more energy efficient. In fact the development of more energy efficient manufacturing and shipping methods can indeed make a tremendous impact on efforts to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.

The development of more energy efficient technologies is one of the most cost effective ways to lower greenhouse gas emissions. According to the ACEEE report our nation has the potential of reducing energy consumption rates by another 25% to 30% over the next two decades.
