S.A.G. Solarstrom 48 MW PV Project
S.A.G. Solarstrom AG has announced plans to construct one of the largest connected ground mounted renewable energy projects in northern Italy. The project will be located in the Veneto region and construction is slated to begin before the end of this year. The system will have a total capacity of 48 megawatts and is also the largest project in the history of S.A.G. Solarstrom to date.
The PV project will be managed by Solarstrom who will be working with cooperation partner Solibra Solar Solutions GmbH. S.A.G. Solarstrom says that it will be using financial resources obtained through refinancing completed projects in the first stage. Work on planning the implementation is currently ongoing.
All of the approvals have already been granted for the ground mounted project and construction can begin. The company has plans to sell the transformer substation to Terna S.P.A., an Italian company after the project reaches completion. The Veneto project is set to be implemented in 2010 and 2011.
