Saving The Environment The Wrong Way?
While this isn’t the normal type of post you’ll find here on Green Manufactuing, it is an innovative way to produce alternative fuel! However, it is an illegal way as well and for some many it may even be considered an immoral way to save the planet!
According to a report published on Forbes.com, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon used body fat for fuel in two SUV’s! Bio-diesel which is commonly produced from byproducts from beef and pigs or vegetable oils, was produced using fat from liposuctions he performed on patients!
On a personal website, the surgeon stated that most of his patients requested that he use their fat to produce fuel. And, that he had much more than he could use! Patients not only got to rid themselves of unwanted fat, they also got to do their part in saving the environment!
Although, using greener alternative fuels is stressed across the country, in California it is illegal to use any medical waste products to power a vehicle. The state’s public health department is investigating the “green” surgeon, who is believed to have recently moved to South America!
