Solar Power Can Be A Viable Alternative To Fossil Fuels
As fuel prices rise the motivation of companies to research and develop viable solar power technologies also increases. This is good news for environmentalists who are interested in “green” technologies regardless of the price of fuel.
In a recent report issued by Co-op America and Clean Edge it was stated that solar power will actually become a practical and cost effective alternative to electricity that is produced via fossil fuels within the next ten years.
The Utility Solar Assessment Study, produced by the two organizations outlines steps and methods that can be used by utility companies to reach a rate of 10% solar power usage by 2025.
Clint Wilder and Ron Pernick, authors of the study, urge electricity producers to take advantage of the benefits to be gained by implementing solar power within their systems.
Solar power is one of many ways that utility providers as well as manufacturers can become more “green”. Solar energy can be an effective way to reduce fossil fuel usage lowering emissions of harmful greenhouse gases.
